Description

The Basis is a 222mm linear LED track light designed specifically for Maytoni's Radity magnetic track system, housing a 12W integrated LED module that emits warm 3000K light through the full length of the aluminium body. The fitting runs on DC 48V supplied by the magnetic track, eliminating mains wiring at the fitting itself and allowing the light to be repositioned anywhere along the track rail without tools or re-wiring.

Designed for gallery lighting, retail displays, kitchen worktop lighting and residential feature walls, the Basis provides focused linear wash rather than spot illumination. The 222mm length suits lighting runs of shelving, artwork or countertops where multiple fittings are spaced along a single track to create continuous light. The magnetic connection to the Radity track system means the fitting can be slid along the rail, rotated, or removed and repositioned as layout needs change.

The extruded aluminium body is finished in matt black and measures just 29mm high by 26mm wide, giving the fitting a low-profile presence on the ceiling or suspended track. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor environments. The 12W LED output at 3000K provides warm ambient light suitable for residential and hospitality settings, while the aluminium body acts as a passive heatsink to manage LED temperature without active cooling.

Does this work with standard mains track systems?

No. The Basis is designed exclusively for Maytoni's Radity magnetic track system, which runs on DC 48V. It will not fit or operate on standard 230V mains track rails. The Radity system requires a separate track power supply unit to convert mains to low voltage.

Can the fitting be repositioned once installed?

Yes. The magnetic connection allows the fitting to be slid along the track, rotated through 360 degrees, or removed and repositioned without tools or re-wiring. This makes layout adjustments straightforward after installation.

Is the LED dimmable?

Dimming capability depends on the Radity track power supply unit being used. If the PSU supports dimming and is paired with a compatible dimmer, the LED can be dimmed. Check the specification of your Radity track system to confirm dimmer compatibility.

What's the light output pattern?

The Basis provides a linear wash of light along its 222mm length rather than a concentrated spot. This makes it suitable for lighting shelves, worktops, or feature walls where continuous illumination is needed across a horizontal plane.
