Description

The Basic Form is a 5-light cluster pendant with five frosted opal glass globes suspended on individual matt black metal stems from a 45cm circular ceiling plate. Each globe houses an E14 bulb (sold separately, 40W max per bulb) and the stems are height-adjustable on installation, allowing the cluster to be configured between 52.5cm and 222.5cm total drop depending on ceiling height and the surface below.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan spaces with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Basic Form delivers distributed ambient light across a wide area while keeping each individual light source soft and diffused. The five globes can be arranged at staggered heights during installation to create asymmetry, or set at the same level for a more uniform appearance. The 45cm ceiling plate covers standard UK ceiling roses and the adjustable cords allow the pendant to sit 700-900mm above a dining table or 600-800mm above a kitchen island.

The frosted opal glass diffuses light evenly in all directions without glare, making the globes comfortable to view from seated positions. The matt black metal finish on the stems and ceiling plate contrasts cleanly with the white glass and works across industrial, mid-century, Scandinavian and contemporary interiors. Each globe is approximately 15cm diameter, giving the cluster a noticeable presence without dominating smaller rooms. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor use only.

What bulbs does it take?

The Basic Form takes five E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each rated up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to match the frosted opal glass.

Can the globes be set at different heights?

Yes. Each of the five stems has an adjustable cord that can be set independently during installation, allowing the globes to be staggered at different heights or arranged at the same level depending on preference.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 52.5cm works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above when installed over a dining table or island. For taller ceilings the cords can be extended up to the maximum 222.5cm drop, though most installations use 100-150cm total drop.

Is the pendant dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs used. If you fit dimmable E14 LED bulbs and pair them with a compatible LED dimmer, the pendant can be dimmed. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming.
