Description

The Basel is a 310mm-high outdoor wall lantern with a brushed stainless steel frame and clear glass panels, carrying an IP54 rating for dust and water-splash resistance. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately) and projects 120mm from the wall, enclosing the bulb in a rectangular clear glass chamber held by two horizontal stainless steel bands.

Designed for residential exterior walls, garden gates, porch entries and courtyard lighting, the Basel provides downward and outward light distribution through its clear glass sides. The IP54 rating makes it suitable for positions exposed to rain and general outdoor conditions but not for submersion or high-pressure water jets. The stainless steel frame resists corrosion in coastal and urban environments, and the clear glass allows full visibility of the bulb, so decorative filament LEDs or traditional incandescent bulbs show through.

The Basel fits standard UK outdoor wiring boxes and back plates, with cable entry through the rear mounting plate. The 210mm width and 120mm projection suit standard wall-mounted positions without obstructing pathways or doorways. The fixture weighs approximately 1.2kg once fitted, giving a solid presence without requiring additional wall reinforcement on brick, rendered or timber-clad exterior walls.
