Description

The AV:Link 4x4 HDMI 2.0 matrix switch routes any of four HDMI sources to any of four HDMI displays, with independent source selection per output. The unit supports HDMI 2.0b signals up to 4K@60Hz (3840×2160) with HDCP 2.2 protection and an 18Gbps data rate, making it compatible with 4K streaming devices, Blu-ray players, gaming consoles and satellite receivers. Audio can be extracted from HDMI output 1 via an optical SPDIF port and a 3.5mm stereo jack, allowing simultaneous output to a soundbar or amplifier alongside the video display.

Designed for commercial installations in hospitality, sports bars, retail showrooms and conference facilities, the matrix allows independent control of each output via front panel buttons, IR remote, or RS232 serial connection. The RS232 port enables integration with larger AV control systems from a connected PC or control processor. EDID management switches on the front panel allow specific video resolution and audio format settings to be locked per input, preventing handshake issues with displays that support different capabilities.

The metal chassis measures 276×143×26mm and weighs 720g, suitable for rack mounting or placement on an equipment shelf. Gold-plated HDMI connectors reduce signal degradation over cable runs up to 30m combined length (input + output) at 4K@30Hz and Full HD resolutions, or 10m combined at 4K@60Hz. The unit supports multi-channel audio formats including DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, LPCM 7.1, DTS, Dolby AC3 and DSD. A 12V DC power supply with UK plug and an IR remote are included.

Can each display show a different source at the same time?

Yes. The 4x4 matrix allows independent source selection for each of the four outputs. Output 1 can show HDMI input 3 while output 2 shows input 1, and so on. Each output is controlled separately via the front panel, IR remote or RS232 commands.

What cable length is supported at 4K@60Hz?

For 4K@60Hz signals the combined input and output cable length should not exceed 10m per channel. For 4K@30Hz and Full HD (1080p) the combined length can extend to 30m. Use certified high-speed HDMI cables rated for 18Gbps to maintain signal integrity.

How does the audio extraction work?

The optical SPDIF and 3.5mm stereo jack outputs carry the audio signal from HDMI output 1 only. This allows the audio from the first display to be sent simultaneously to a soundbar, amplifier or headphones while the video displays on the connected screen.

What is EDID management used for?

EDID switches on the front panel allow you to lock specific resolution and audio format settings per input. This prevents handshake problems when displays connected to the outputs support different capabilities, ensuring each source outputs a consistent signal type compatible with all connected screens.
