Description
Our Audacious Oak Highboard is made from solid oak, oak veneer and solid beech, with MDF lending stability to the structure, and it brings a warm, tactile quality to a hallway, living room or dining space. The Sugar Brown finish gives the oak a soft, mellow tone that sits comfortably against both pale walls and deeper colour schemes. We chose oak here for its grain and its longevity, and the result is a highboard we are happy to see holding its place in a room for years.
The form is what gives this highboard its character. Rather than a flat front, it has a gently rounded body wrapped in fluted tambour doors, so the ribbed lines catch the light as you move past. It stands on four round tapered legs, lifting the cabinet clear of the floor and keeping the overall look light despite its height. At 120cm wide, 100cm tall and 50cm deep, it offers a generous top surface for a table lamp base, a vase or a run of books, while the interior shelving keeps everyday items tidy and out of sight. The whole piece weighs 28.9kg, so it feels solid without being unmanageable when you position it.
For practical use, we would ask you to keep loads sensible: each shelf takes up to 15kg, and the top surface holds up to 50kg, with those figures assuming the weight is spread evenly across the surface. Assembly is straightforward and takes around 30 minutes, so you can have it standing and in use the same day it arrives. We think it earns its place wherever you decide to set it down.
