Description

At 141cm wide and 75cm tall, our Audacious Oak Desk gives you a generous working surface without dominating the room, and its 60cm depth leaves plenty of space for a monitor, notebook and a warm task lamp. The top is cut into a curved, kidney-shaped form rather than a plain rectangle, so it wraps gently towards you as you sit. We finished this one in Shadow, a deep, quietly moody tone that settles into a study or bedroom corner and pairs easily with darker walls or brass accents.

Built from solid oak with an MDF and steel frame, the desk stands on four round tapered legs that keep the look light despite its 27.6kg weight. The storage section sits beneath a fluted tambour front, a ribbed sliding panel that rolls back to reveal a shelf and tucks your bits and pieces out of sight when you are done for the day. We include a desk organiser and a hook so you can keep pens, cables and headphones close at hand. The shelf takes up to 10kg, while the top holds up to 120kg when the weight is spread evenly across the surface, so it copes happily with books, plants and a full setup.

We chose materials we can stand behind, combining oak, polyester, plated brass and artificial leather, and the desk carries Global Recycled Standard and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® markings for added reassurance. Assembly is quick too, taking around 20 minutes, so you will be working at it the same afternoon it arrives. Whether you place it against a wall or float it in the middle of a room, we think the Shadow finish and that soft kidney curve make it a desk you will be glad to sit down to every morning.
