Audacious Dark Oak Sideboard - White Sands

This Audacious Dark Oak Sideboard gives a living or dining room generous storage without the bulk of a heavy, boxy cabinet. At 160cm wide it holds plenty, yet its long low body sits softly in a room, with rounded ends and fluted tambour doors that slide open rather than swing out into your space. We wanted something you can reach for every day, whether it houses tableware, board games or the odd tangle of cables, and something that still looks considered when the surface is clear. Standing on four round tapered legs, it lifts off the floor and keeps the whole piece feeling light on its feet.

The finish here is our White Sands shade, a soft pale tone that we think works easily against both warm and cool schemes. It pairs with the Dark Oak used through the build, giving the fluted fronts a gentle depth as the ridges catch the light across the day. The piece is made from solid oak, polyester, MDF and artificial leather, and it carries both the Global Recycled Standard and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, which matters to us when we choose the materials we sell. It measures 67.1cm tall and 50cm deep, weighs 42.5kg, and takes around 20 to 25 minutes to assemble.

To keep it looking its best, wipe the surfaces with a soft dry cloth and deal with any spills promptly rather than letting them sit on the finish. The top takes up to 50kg and each internal shelf up to 15kg, with those figures assuming the weight is spread evenly across the surface rather than loaded to one side. For styling, we like a low lamp and a stack of books at one end, leaving the fluted doors free so the shape of the piece can speak for itself.
