Open-plan living spaces and generous hallways are where our Audacious Dark Oak Highboard 120cm in Sterling really comes into its own. This tall cabinet has a rounded body rather than a flat front, giving it a softer presence that we think works beautifully against both plain walls and busier gallery arrangements. The fluted tambour doors run in gentle vertical lines across that curved face, and the whole piece rests on four round tapered legs that lift it clear of the floor. At 120cm wide and 100cm tall, it holds a good amount of storage while keeping a light, considered look.

We chose the Sterling colourway for its calm, muted grey tone, which sits quietly alongside the warmth of the Dark Oak. It is a combination we find easy to live with, whether you lean towards neutral schemes or want a grounding piece among brighter accents. Made from solid oak, oak veneer, solid beech and MDF, with polyester and artificial leather detailing, the highboard measures 50cm deep and weighs 28.9kg. Behind the tambour doors you will find shelf storage, and we would ask you to keep to a maximum load of 15kg per shelf, with up to 50kg on the top surface when weight is spread evenly across it.

Assembly takes around 30 minutes, so you can have it in place and filled without much fuss. To keep the finish looking its best, we suggest wiping the surfaces with a soft dry cloth and avoiding harsh cleaners, which can dull the matt tone over time. For styling, we like to leave the top clear apart from a single lamp or a low bowl, letting the fluted doors and rounded form do the talking.
