Description

Made from solid oak with oak veneer, solid beech and an MDF core, our Audacious Dark Oak Highboard brings together honest materials in a piece we return to time and again. The Dark Oak gives it a deep, warm grain, while the Morning Meadows finish softens the whole with a gentle, understated colour. We wanted a highboard that felt substantial without being heavy on the eye, and this one manages exactly that.

The form is what draws us in first. A tall cabinet with a rounded body sits on four round tapered legs, lifting it clear of the floor so it never feels bulky. The fluted tambour doors run in soft vertical ridges across the front, catching the light as it shifts through the day and giving a texture you notice more the longer you look. This is not a flat-fronted design, and we think the curve makes all the difference. At 100cm tall, 120cm wide and 50cm deep, it holds a generous amount behind those doors while keeping a neat footprint. Weighing 28.9kg, it feels planted and sturdy once in place, yet the tapered legs keep the overall look light.

Inside, each shelf takes up to 15kg when weight is spread evenly, and the top surface holds up to 50kg, again with the load distributed across it. That gives us room for glassware, books or a table lamp base above, with plenty stored out of sight below. Assembly takes around 30 minutes, so it is ready to use before long.
