Description
The Atom is a 92mm round recessed downlight with a 25° tilt mechanism housed in a black powder-coated aluminium body. The inner gimbal rotates within the fixed outer trim, allowing the GU10 lamp to be angled towards a feature wall, a countertop, or a specific area of a room rather than illuminating straight down. The fitting sits 25mm deep once recessed, presenting a low-profile circular trim flush with the ceiling plane.
Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the Atom suits kitchens where directed light is needed over work surfaces, living rooms where accent lighting picks out artwork or shelving, offices where task light is directed towards desks, and retail or hospitality spaces where feature lighting highlights displays or architectural details. The 50W maximum GU10 rating accommodates both LED and halogen lamps, giving flexibility to choose colour temperature and beam angle depending on the application.
The black aluminium body provides a neutral finish that recedes into dark ceilings and contrasts cleanly against white or light-toned ceilings without the reflective presence of chrome or brass. The IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry internal locations — it is not suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms or outdoor soffits. The tilt mechanism uses a friction ring that holds the lamp angle once set, so the fitting does not require re-adjustment after initial positioning.

Frequently Asked
What ceiling void depth is needed?
The Atom requires a minimum 60mm ceiling void depth to accommodate the 25mm fitting height plus the GU10 lamp body and terminal connections. Measure the void before ordering if installing into a shallow ceiling.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry internal locations. For bathroom installation, choose a downlight rated IP44 or higher.
What bulb does it take?
The Atom takes a standard GU10 twist-and-lock bulb up to 50W. Most installations use a GU10 LED between 4-7W and 3000K-4000K depending on whether warm or neutral white light is preferred. Bulbs are sold separately.
How is the tilt angle adjusted?
Once installed, the inner gimbal can be rotated by hand within the outer trim ring. The friction ring holds the angle once set, so the fitting does not require re-adjustment under normal use.
