Description

The Atom is an 85mm round surface mounted downlight with a cylindrical black aluminium body housing a single GU10 fitting. The lamp head swivels up to 25° from vertical, allowing light to be angled towards a wall, a piece of artwork, or down onto a worktop depending on installation position. The fitting mounts directly to the ceiling surface without requiring a recessed cut-out.

Designed for installation where recessed downlights cannot be fitted due to shallow ceiling voids or concrete slabs, the Atom suits kitchens, hallways, living rooms and home offices. The 115mm overall height projects below the ceiling line, so works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above where the fitting does not intrude into headroom. Multiple Atom downlights can be spaced along a kitchen island, corridor or gallery wall to create a track of adjustable accent lighting without running dedicated track hardware.

The black aluminium body has a powder-coated finish with concentric rings machined into the lower face, giving the fitting a distinct profile when viewed from below. The IP20 rating limits the Atom to dry interior locations — it cannot be used in bathrooms, shower rooms or outdoor applications. The GU10 fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED, halogen or low-energy bulb up to 50W (sold separately), with most installations using 5-7W GU10 LEDs between 3000K and 4000K depending on the room.

Does the Atom come with a bulb?

No. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to 50W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W GU10 LED between 3000K and 4000K.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Atom to dry interior locations only. It cannot be used in bathrooms, shower rooms, or anywhere exposed to moisture or outdoor conditions.

How much does the lamp head swivel?

The GU10 fitting swivels up to 25° from vertical, allowing light to be angled towards walls, artwork or worktops. The swivel is locked by tightening a small set screw on the side of the fitting once the desired angle is set.

What ceiling height is needed?
