At 60cm across and sitting just 21cm from the ceiling, our Asteria Up Plus Ceiling Light in the Large size is the piece we reach for when a room needs proper, even light without anything hanging low overhead. It is a flat circular disc mounted close to the ceiling with a short central boss, so it stays clear of tall furniture and open doorways while still filling a generous footprint. It is rated at 2200 lumen with a choice of 2400K, 2700K and 3000K colour temperatures, and its CRI of 94 means colours in the room read accurately under it. Weighing 7.1kg, it is a solid fixture made to feel permanent once it is up.

We have kept the setup straightforward, with an assembly time of around 15 minutes for this surface mounted lamp. Inside sits a 30W LED panel that includes an ambient top light, casting a soft glow up towards the ceiling as well as down into the space below. It works with an external dimmer, so you can bring the level down for quieter evenings and back up when you need the full output.
