Steel, aluminium and PMMA come together in our Asteria Move Portable Lamp, finished in a soft Nuance Mist colour that sits quietly in a living room, bedroom or study. The form is simple: a flat disc top on a slim stem, resting on a round base. At 30.6cm tall and 20cm in diameter, it weighs just 1.1kg, so we find it easy to lift from one spot to another as the evening changes. The disc holds a built-in LED panel that casts a gentle, downward pool of light rather than a harsh glare.

What we like most about this portable lamp is the freedom the built-in lithium-Ion battery gives you. There is no cord tethering it to the wall while it is in use, which means you can carry it to a reading chair, set it on a shelf, or place it on a side table beside the sofa.
