Description

At 30.6cm tall with a 20cm diameter base, our Asteria Move portable lamp is sized to sit comfortably on a shelf, a bedside table or the corner of a desk without crowding anything around it. It weighs just 1.1kg, so we find it easy to lift from room to room and set down wherever the evening takes us. The form is simple: a flat disc top rests on a slim stem above a round base, giving light without any bulky shade in the way. In our Nuance Mist colour, the soft muted finish settles quietly into most schemes rather than competing with them.

The lamp runs on a built-in lithium-Ion battery, and we supply a USB-C cable and power adaptor in the box so you can charge it straight away. It also works on any Qi compatible wireless charger, though we do not include one. Four light steps let you pick the mood: step one gives 5 lumen and lasts up to 168 hours on a charge, step two offers 20 lumen for around 50 hours, step three reaches 50 lumen for 20 hours, and step four puts out 100 lumen for roughly 10 hours. The LED panel is built in, with a CRI of 81 for a natural rendering of the colours near it. Made from steel, aluminium and PMMA, it feels solid for its slight weight.

Assembly takes about 5 minutes, so there is little to do before the first switch-on. The lamp carries UKCA and CE marks and an IP2X rating, which means we recommend it for indoor use only. If you want a cordless light for reading, dining or a bit of ambient glow, we think this one earns its place.
