Description

The Ashstead is a cordless wall light that runs on a rechargeable battery, so it needs no mains wiring and can go almost anywhere. It carries a 1.5W integrated LED in a warm white 2700K tone, controlled by a three-stage touch dimmer that steps through 40, 80 and 155 lumens. The body is finished in brushed aged brass and measures 194mm high, 110mm wide and 166mm deep. A full charge takes around 5.5 hours and gives up to 36 hours of light, and a USB-C to USB-A cable and the rechargeable battery are both included in the box.

Because there is no cable to hide, this is the fitting for spots a wired light cannot easily reach, from a shelf or a bookcase to a hallway wall or a bedside where you want a soft glow to read by. Lift it down to charge, then place it back, or move it around the house as you need. The three brightness levels let you set anything from a low night-time light to a brighter level for a task, which makes it handy in rented homes as well as owned ones.

The brushed aged brass finish is warm and understated, and the touch control keeps the surface clean of switches. Wipe the metal with a dry, soft cloth and charge it fully before first use to settle the battery. Its IP20 rating keeps it to dry indoor rooms, so it is not one for a bathroom or outdoors. Pair the Ashstead with one of our 16cm clip-on shades to change its character, and lean on the warm white tone, which flatters wood, brass and neutral walls through the wider range.

Does the Ashstead need wiring in?

No. It is battery powered and recharges over USB-C, so there is no mains wiring. The charging cable and battery are supplied with it.

How long does a charge last?

A full charge takes around 5.5 hours and gives up to 36 hours of light, depending on which of the three brightness levels you use.

What colour is the light?
