Description

This is a fully portable, rechargeable floor lamp that runs on a built in battery, so it needs no power cable and can stand wherever you like. It rises 1400mm on a slim brushed aged brass stem and is topped with a 25cm Ikat shade, a handmade gathered pleat in digitally printed faux silk with taped edge detailing and a plain inner lining. A 1.5W integrated LED gives a warm white 2700K glow, controlled by a 3 stage touch dimmer that steps through 40, 80 and 155 lumens for low, medium and bright light.

Freedom from a plug socket is the point of this lamp: place it on a landing, in a reading corner, beside a bath or out on a covered terrace, anywhere a mains light cannot easily reach. The touch dimmer means you set the level to suit the moment, from a soft night glow to a brighter reading light. The Ikat shade comes in coral pink, pearl grey or natural, so you can pick a warm accent colour or a quiet neutral. It is a relaxed, classic piece for softer, layered lighting.

Charging is handled by the supplied USB-C to USB-A cable, with a full charge taking around 5.5 hours and giving up to 36 hours of light. The rechargeable 3.7V battery is built in and included, so there is nothing else to buy. Wipe the brass base with a soft dry cloth and keep the fabric shade free of dust with a gentle brush. Because it is cordless, the Ashstead moves easily from room to room, or outdoors under cover on a still evening, wherever you want a little extra light.
