Description

Not a smooth glass globe, and not a hard geometric form, our Around The World Pendant Lampshade in Brushed Steel is an egg-shaped shade built from fine horizontal ribbed bands. It sits widest low down and draws inwards towards the top, where we hang it from a small flat canopy. We wanted a shape with a little more movement than a plain sphere, and the closely stacked bands give it a soft ridged texture that catches the light across every level. This is the Mini size, the most compact in our range, so it suits spots where a larger shade would feel too heavy overhead.

Made from steel and glass, the Mini stands 26.9cm tall with a diameter of 21.2cm and weighs just 1.2kg, so it stays light on a single cord above a bedside table, a reading nook or a kitchen worktop. Assembly takes around five minutes, which means you can have it up and working without a long job ahead of you. It takes an E27 fitting with a max 15W LED, and we would suggest an opal glass bulb to keep the glow diffused and gentle through the ribbed bands. The bulb is not included, so do add one that matches the E27 requirement. Every pendant we sell here is backed by our two-year warranty.

The Brushed Steel top has a soft grey sheen that keeps the finish quiet rather than shiny, so it settles easily against both warm and cool schemes. To make the most of the Mini, we like hanging two or three in a loose row over a breakfast bar, letting the ribbed texture repeat down the line. A dry, soft cloth is all it needs to keep the metal clean, and we suggest wiping it gently every so often to lift dust from between the bands.
