Our brushed steel finish brings a soft metallic sheen to any room, catching the light without shouting for attention. The cool, brushed surface reads as calm and modern, sitting comfortably against neutral walls or picking up the tones of a busier, more textured space. We chose this finish because it works quietly across a range of interiors, from a pared-back kitchen to a bedroom that needs a little warmth from above. Fitted with an opal glass bulb, this pendant lampshade gives out a gentle, diffused glow that we think suits both task areas and relaxed corners.

Look closely and you will see this is not a simple sphere. The shade has an egg-like form, widest low down and drawn in gently towards the top, wrapped in fine horizontal ribbed bands that run all the way around. Those bands give the surface real depth and a subtle rhythm, so the shade never looks flat. It hangs from a small flat canopy, keeping the fixings neat and the attention on the shape itself. Made from steel and glass, this Large version measures 43.4cm in height and 35.4cm in diameter, weighing 2.8kg, so it holds its own above a dining table or kitchen island without overwhelming the space.

Assembly takes around five minutes, and we back every piece with a two-year warranty for peace of mind.
