The Arion is a 500mm semi-flush ceiling light built from a matt black metal disc with a central cylindrical stem that mounts directly to the ceiling. A single E27 bulb fitting sits inside the disc, directing light downward through the open base while the black metal shade controls glare and confines the beam.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3-2.5m where a full pendant drop would feel intrusive, the Arion suits kitchens, bedrooms, hallways and landings needing focused downward illumination without a protruding fitting. The semi-flush profile keeps the shade close to the ceiling plane, making it comfortable to walk beneath without the visual clutter of a hanging cable or chain. The matt black finish hides fingerprints during installation and pairs cleanly with dark-toned ceilings, exposed pipework and contemporary interiors in grey, white or charcoal palettes.

The metal disc measures 500mm in diameter, giving a broad enough footprint to visually anchor above a 1200-1500mm kitchen island or dining table without overwhelming smaller bedrooms or bathrooms. The fitting is rated IP20 for dry indoor use and carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux. The bulb is sold separately, allowing you to choose the wattage, colour temperature and filament style that matches the room's function.

Is the Arion dimmable?

Yes. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you choose. Pair the fitting with a dimmable E27 LED bulb and a compatible LED dimmer switch to control the light level.

What bulb does it take?

The Arion takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient or task lighting.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The semi-flush profile sits close to the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3-2.5m where a full pendant would hang too low. It works well in modern flats, loft conversions and Victorian terraces with lower ceilings.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating restricts the Arion to dry indoor locations away from direct water exposure. It is not suitable for bathroom zones 1, 2 or 3 as defined by BS 7671 wiring regulations.
