Description
The Arion 2 is a large ceiling lampshade measuring 602mm in diameter, formed from a single sheet of black-finished metal into a wide, shallow cone. The shade mounts to a ceiling rose and houses a standard pendant fitting inside the dome, directing light downwards while the metal shell prevents glare from above. The underside is open, exposing the bulb and fitting.
Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room pendant installations where wide light distribution is needed, the 602mm diameter casts light across a 2-3m surface area when paired with a medium to high-output bulb. The shallow cone angle of approximately 30 degrees gives a broad spread without funnelling the light into a narrow beam. Ceiling height of 2.4m or above is recommended to avoid the shade dominating the sightline.
The black finish is a matt powder coat applied to sheet metal, giving a low-sheen surface that sits comfortably in industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors. The metal construction provides rigidity and prevents sagging over time, maintaining the cone profile. At 602mm across, the shade has visual weight — it works as a single centrepiece over a dining table or in multiples over a long kitchen island. The shade is sold without cable, ceiling rose or bulb, all of which are available separately and should be matched to the fitting's maximum wattage rating.

Frequently Asked
What bulb fitting does it take?
The Arion 2 is a shade only and does not include the pendant fitting, cable or ceiling rose. You pair it with your chosen pendant holder (typically E27 or E14 depending on your setup) and the bulb must fit inside the 602mm diameter dome.
What ceiling height is needed?
The shallow cone profile works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the shade but it will dominate the sightline more than in taller rooms.
Can it be used in multiples?
Yes. The Arion 2 can be installed in multiples over long kitchen islands or dining tables. Spacing them 800mm-1m apart gives even light coverage without the shades visually crowding each other.
Is the black finish matt or gloss?
Matt. The powder-coated finish has a low sheen that reduces reflections under daylight and pairs well with industrial and contemporary interiors.
