Arcera 120cm LED Bollard Light - Black IP65

The Arcera is a 120cm aluminium LED bollard with a 25mm square profile, finished in matt black with an integrated 3000K LED running the full height of the post. The IP65 rating seals the fitting against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for year-round installation in UK gardens, driveways, pathways and commercial outdoor spaces.

Designed for pathway and perimeter lighting rather than area illumination, the Arcera casts narrow beams of warm white light from a vertical slot cut into the face of the post. This creates a linear wash along the ground, marking edges and routes without spilling light upwards into neighbouring windows or gardens. The 120cm height positions the light source above typical garden planting and ground-level clutter, reducing obstruction and pooling shadows.

The aluminium extrusion resists corrosion in coastal and wet climates better than mild steel bollards, and the black powder-coated finish holds colour under UV exposure without the annual repainting needed for traditional painted metal posts. The 25mm x 25mm footprint allows the bollard to be installed between paving slabs or set into gravel without requiring large foundation blocks. The non-dimmable LED runs on 230V mains and is wired through a base plate fixed to a concrete foundation or buried conduit outlet.

What does the IP65 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP65 means the bollard is sealed against dust (the '6') and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction (the '5'). It will withstand rain, garden hose washdown and temporary flooding, but should not be submerged or installed where standing water pools around the base for extended periods.

How is the Arcera installed?

The bollard fixes via a base plate to a concrete foundation or buried conduit outlet. Mains cable is routed through the base and connected inside the bollard's lower access compartment. The 25mm square footprint allows installation between standard paving slabs or set into gravel beds.

Can the LED be replaced?

The LED is integrated into the bollard structure and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of operation (around 10 years at 8 hours per night). Ideal Lux backs the fitting with a 5-year warranty.

What spacing is recommended between bollards?

For continuous pathway illumination, space bollards 2-3 metres apart. For accent or marker lighting (highlighting steps, corners, or driveway edges), spacing can be increased to 4-5 metres. The narrow beam pattern means the Arcera provides directional rather than area light.
