Description
The Amelia is a 324mm diameter pendant light combining a polished chrome canopy, rod and trim ring with an opal glass dome and etched prismatic bottom lens. The single E27 socket sits inside the glass dome, directing light downward through the prismatic lens while the opal glass diffuses ambient light outward. The polished chrome finish reflects light across the metal components, adding brightness to the fitting itself.
Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.2m, the Amelia hangs on an adjustable rod that can be set between 420mm minimum and 1100mm maximum drop during installation. The 324mm diameter suits tables 1.2-1.6m wide when used as a single pendant, or multiple Amelias can be spaced along a longer island. The fitting requires an E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose light temperature and output.
The prismatic lens at the base of the dome channels light into a defined downward pool while creating a faceted visual texture when viewed from below. The opal glass softens the light passing through it, reducing glare compared to clear glass pendants while still providing task-level illumination directly beneath. The polished chrome finish pairs with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and contemporary metallic hardware, and the retro-industrial form sits comfortably in both traditional and modern schemes.
The Amelia carries a 2-year manufacturer guarantee from Hinkley. The rod is hollow to conceal the cable run, and the chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses. The glass dome and prismatic lens are replaceable components should damage occur after installation.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Amelia take?
The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use a warm-white LED bulb between 6-12W and 2700K-3000K for dining or kitchen task lighting.
Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?
The drop is adjustable only during installation, between 420mm and 1100mm. Once the rod is cut and the fitting wired, the height is fixed. If you need to change it later, the pendant must be taken down and the rod adjusted.
What ceiling height does it need?
The Amelia works best in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.2m. For a dining table, the bottom of the pendant typically hangs 700-800mm above the table surface. For a kitchen island, 750-900mm clearance above the worktop is typical.
Is the glass replaceable if it breaks?
Yes. The opal glass dome and prismatic lens are replaceable components. Contact Hinkley or your retailer for replacement glass parts if damage occurs after installation.
