Description

At 35cm high and 20.5cm across, our Alva Pendant Lampshade in Mini is the smaller of our two Alva sizes, giving you a compact shade that suits tighter corners and lower ceilings without crowding a room. This version suits spaces where a larger fitting would feel too heavy, such as a bedside pendant, a reading nook or a cluster of two or three hung at staggered heights. Weighing just 0.18kg, it stays light on its flex, and we think that keeps it easy to live with in almost any room.

Seen face-on, the Alva Mini opens into a flat rosette of many pointed petals radiating from a central point, a form that catches the light softly across each folded edge. It is made from polypropylene, POM and acrylic, so it holds its crisp petalled shape while staying low in weight. It is a pendant, floor and table lampshade, which means you can move it between fittings as your layout changes, and it works with E27 bulbs up to a maximum 15W LED, bought separately. We recommend an LED here to keep the heat low against the folded material.

Assembly takes around 15 minutes, and we supply it flat so you build the petals up yourself, which is part of what keeps the shade so light to handle. To care for it, wipe the surface gently with a soft dry cloth and avoid damp, as this keeps the folded edges sharp and the colour clean over time. If you want a matching set, our Alva also comes in a Medium, so you can pair the two across a hallway or over a kitchen island. We think the Mini works best where you want texture and a little pattern of light without a bulky fitting overhead.
