Description

Overlapping curved metal leaves fan outward in our Aluvia Mini, building up a rounded pine-cone form that opens at the bottom. Rather than a plain, smooth shade, each leaf sits slightly proud of the one beneath it, so the light plays across a layered surface and casts a soft, textured glow. We finished this shade in Brushed Brass, a warm golden tone with a gently matt sheen that catches the light without glaring. It is a shade with plenty of presence, yet the open base keeps it feeling light and unfussy overhead.

The Mini suits smaller corners and cosier rooms, standing 30cm tall with a diameter of 40cm and weighing just 0.72kg. That modest weight makes it easy to hang and easy to move if you decide to reposition it later. This is a versatile piece, and we offer it as a pendant, floor or table lampshade, so you can hang it low over a dining table, pair it with a floor stand in a reading nook, or set it on a table base beside the sofa. It is compatible with E27 fittings, and you should allow around 20 minutes to assemble it before it is ready to light.

Each leaf is made from aluminium, polypropylene and polycarbonate, a combination we chose so the shade holds its sculptural shape while staying lightweight. To keep the Brushed Brass finish looking its best, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners that might dull the surface. If you like the pine-cone silhouette but want more scale, our Aluvia range also comes in a Medium size, and the Brushed Brass tone works beautifully against darker walls, natural timber and warmer paint colours. We think it brings a quiet warmth to any room you place it in.
