Description

Aluminium finished in soft Pearl White gives our Aluvia lampshade its gentle, matt presence, and it is formed from overlapping curved leaves that spiral into a pine-cone form. The shade sits open at the bottom, so light spills downward while the layered surface catches a quieter glow along its sides. Alongside the aluminium, we use polypropylene and polycarbonate to keep the structure light and the leaves consistent in their overlap. At 48cm tall and 59cm across, the Medium reads as a generous shape that draws the eye without shouting for it.

The Aluvia works in more than one setting, and its E27 fitting means it suits a pendant flex, a floor lamp base or a table lamp base equally well. Hung low over a dining table, the leaves throw a soft pattern across the surface below; set on a table lamp base in a reading corner, it gives a warmer, more contained pool of light. The Pearl White finish keeps things calm and neutral, sitting easily against pale walls or darker joinery, and it pairs nicely with a warm bulb in the region of 2700K if you want the leaves to glow rather than glare.

Assembly takes around 20 minutes, and we have kept the process straightforward so the leaves build up into their pine-cone shape without fuss. At 1.97kg the shade is light enough to handle on your own during fitting, yet it holds its form once in place. The materials wipe clean with a dry cloth, and the layered leaves hide the occasional speck of dust better than a plain surface would.
