Description

The Aldworth is a turned spindle table lamp shaped from solid wood, offered in natural ash and three satin painted colours, a soft pink clay, a green and a marlin blue. It carries a brass B22 switched lampholder and a 1.5 metre grey braided fabric flex to a plug, so it is ready to use as soon as you add a bulb and a shade. It stands 272mm high with a 105mm diameter base, weighs 0.5kg, and is supplied without a shade so you can pick your own. The switch sits on the holder for easy reach.

A spindle lamp like this is made for classic and country-leaning rooms, and it looks at home on a bedside table, a console or a shelf in a living room. Because you choose the shade, you can set the whole character of the lamp, from a plain linen for something quiet to a printed 16 or 20cm shade for more colour and pattern. The natural ash keeps things warm and honest, while the painted colours let you tie the lamp into a bolder scheme, and a pair reads neatly on either side of a bed.

The spindle is turned from sustainably sourced wood, either left natural or painted in a soft satin finish, and the holder is authentic brass with a built-in switch. Dust the wood with a dry cloth and wipe painted finishes lightly, avoiding damp or oily cleaners on the timber. It is a Class 1 fitting, so it connects through its plug and flex in the normal way, and it works with a B22 LED bulb.
