Ainsley 3 Light Wall Light - Polished Chrome

The Ainsley is a 610mm three-light wall bar with polished chrome metalwork and three opal glass shades shaped like inverted teardrops, each housing a 3W G9 LED bulb at 3000K. The horizontal chrome bar mounts to a circular backplate and the three lights are spaced evenly along the bar, with turned chrome cups holding each glass shade. The fitting carries an IP44 rating, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 where splashing occurs but not direct spray.

Designed for installation above bathroom mirrors, the Ainsley provides symmetrical task lighting across a width of 600-900mm, which suits most standard single and mid-size double vanities. The 206mm projection from the wall clears typical mirror frames without the shades sitting too far forward into the room. The opal glass diffuses the LED output to reduce glare when looking up at the fitting from the basin, while the 3000K colour temperature gives a warm white light that works well for grooming and makeup application without the cooler blue cast of higher-temperature LEDs.

The polished chrome finish provides a high-gloss reflective surface that pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and other bathroom fittings in traditional and contemporary bathrooms. The metal frame and backplate are rated for damp environments under the IP44 standard, and the LEDs are integrated into the G9 fittings supplied with the light — no separate bulbs to source. The turned cups on each light give a classical silhouette that sits comfortably in period-style bathrooms as well as modern schemes with retro detailing.

Is the Ainsley suitable for bathroom use?

Yes. The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers areas around the basin and bath where splashing occurs. It is not rated for zone 1 (directly above the bath or inside the shower enclosure) where direct spray and steam are present.

Are the LED bulbs replaceable?

The fitting comes with three integrated 3W G9 LED bulbs fitted at the factory. These are replaceable if they fail, but G9 LED bulbs are widely available and the fitting accepts any standard G9 LED up to the maximum 3W rating.

What width mirror does it suit?

The 610mm bar width works well above mirrors between 600mm and 900mm wide, providing balanced light distribution across the mirror surface. For narrower mirrors the Ainsley may overhang; for wider mirrors (1000mm+) consider two Ainsley fittings or a longer bar light.

Can it be installed upside down with shades facing upwards?

The Ainsley is designed to be mounted with shades facing downwards to direct light onto the vanity and mirror. Mounting upside down would direct light upwards onto the ceiling, reducing task lighting effectiveness and creating unwanted glare from the open tops of the shades.
