The Ahrendale is a 3-light duo-mount fitting from Kichler that can be installed either as a pendant chandelier on a chain or as a semi-flush ceiling light, depending on the room's ceiling height and the effect required. The 451mm-diameter frame consists of a cylindrical wire mesh cage in anvil iron grey finish surrounding three vetro mica glass shades, each housing an E27 bulb (sold separately). The wire mesh runs the full 425mm height of the fitting and acts both as a diffuser screen and as a structural design element.

Designed for dining rooms, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m, the Ahrendale's dual mounting capability makes it practical where a full-drop pendant would hang too low or where a traditional semi-flush would look undersized. Installed on the chain, the minimum drop from ceiling to base is 505mm, adjustable up to 2311mm on the 1829mm chain provided. Installed semi-flush, the fitting sits 425mm below the ceiling rose. The three E27 sockets each accept bulbs up to 60W, giving flexibility to use warm-white LED, vintage filament or halogen bulbs depending on the light quality required.

The combination of the wire mesh cage and the vetro mica shades creates layered light output: the mesh diffuses and patterns the light cast onto surrounding walls, while the translucent mica glass softens direct glare from the bulbs. The anvil iron grey finish on the metalwork has a textured, slightly oxidised appearance that pairs with industrial, farmhouse and transitional interiors. The dual-mount canopy supplied with the fitting allows the same light to serve different rooms or to adapt if ceiling heights change during a renovation.

Yes. The Ahrendale includes a dual-mount canopy system that allows it to be fitted either on a chain as a pendant chandelier or directly to the ceiling as a semi-flush. The installation method is chosen during fitting and determines whether the chain is used or the fitting mounts flush to the ceiling rose.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting has three E27 sockets, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K for a warm ambient glow, though vintage filament bulbs also work well with the industrial cage aesthetic.

What's the drop when installed semi-flush?

When installed semi-flush (without using the chain), the fitting projects 425mm below the ceiling. This is the body height of the fitting itself. When installed on the chain as a pendant, the minimum drop is 505mm and the maximum is 2311mm, adjustable during installation by shortening the chain.

What is vetro mica glass?
