Description

The Aethera is a 30cm diameter cylinder lampshade with a fire-retardant PVC frame covered in beige fabric. The shade measures 300mm across and is designed to fit standard table lamp and floor lamp fittings that use an E27 bulb holder with a shade carrier ring or harp attachment.

Suited to bedside tables, console tables, and smaller floor lamps in living rooms and bedrooms, the 30cm diameter provides enough coverage for a single E27 bulb without overwhelming the base. The beige fabric softens the light output, diffusing the bulb glow to create ambient rather than directional lighting. The cylindrical form sits flush at top and bottom, with no taper or flare.

The fabric is mounted onto a rigid PVC framework that meets fire-retardant standards for residential use. The beige tone is a neutral warm off-white with slight linen texture visible when the shade is unlit, shifting to a warmer cream-beige when illuminated from inside. The shade pairs with brass, chrome, black metal and wood lamp bases across modern, mid-century and Scandi interior styles.

What fitting type does it use?

The Aethera fits standard European shade carriers and harp fittings used on table and floor lamps with E27 bulb holders. Check your lamp base has either a shade carrier ring (usually 40-45mm diameter) or a harp and finial attachment before ordering.

What height is the shade?

The specification lists only the diameter. Typical cylinder shades at 30cm diameter measure between 200-250mm in height. Contact us if you need the exact height measurement for fitting clearance.

Can it be used with LED bulbs?

Yes. The fire-retardant PVC frame is compatible with LED, halogen and traditional incandescent E27 bulbs. LED bulbs run cooler and are the recommended choice for fabric shades to prevent discolouration over time.

How is the fabric cleaned?

Dust regularly with a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner set to low suction, or use a dry microfibre cloth. For marks, spot-clean gently with a barely-damp cloth and allow to air-dry completely before re-fitting. Do not submerge the shade or use chemical sprays.
