Description

The Aethera is a 40cm white cone lampshade built from a fire-retardant PVC frame covered in a taut white fabric. The shade tapers from a 400mm base to a narrower top opening, designed to fit standard ES (E27) or BC (B22) pendant lamp holders typically found on floor lamps, table lamps and oversized pendant fittings.

The shade sits directly onto the lamp holder via the top aperture, replacing an existing shade on a compatible frame. The 400mm diameter suits larger table lamps positioned on side tables, consoles or desks where the lamp base is substantial enough to balance the shade's footprint. On floor lamps, the 40cm size provides sufficient coverage for a single-bulb fitting without overwhelming a reading corner or living room position.

The white fabric diffuses light evenly through the material, softening direct bulb glare and casting ambient light downwards and outwards. The cone shape directs more light downwards than a drum shade would, making it functional for task positions where light needs to fall onto a surface rather than spread equally in all directions. The fabric surface is cleanable with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner to lift dust.
