Description

The Aethera is a 16cm cone-shaped lampshade in black fabric, designed to clip onto small table lamp bases or to fit over ES (E27) and BC (B22) pendant lampholders. The tapered cone silhouette narrows from 160mm at the base to approximately 100mm at the top, creating a compact profile suited to bedside tables, side tables and narrow console surfaces.

The black fabric outer is backed with a white PVC inner lining that reflects light downwards and outwards through the shade, softening the output from a bare bulb and reducing glare. The shade works with table lamp bases up to approximately 300-350mm tall and with pendant cord sets where a directional, focused light is preferred over a wide diffusion. In bedrooms the Aethera provides enough light for reading without washing the entire room, and on hallway console tables it adds a defined accent without overwhelming narrow spaces.

The fabric is a mid-weight cotton-polyester blend that holds its shape without sagging over time. The cone form gives the shade more vertical presence than a drum or cylinder of the same diameter, making it visible from across a room even when unlit. The black finish pairs with matt black, graphite and charcoal lamp bases, and contrasts cleanly with brass, copper, chrome and white ceramic bases. The shade carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux, covering material and construction defects.
