Description

The Aethera is a 16cm diameter cone lampshade in beige fabric with a tapered profile that narrows towards the top. The fabric has a textured weave visible under direct light, with small fibrous flecks distributed through the material that give the beige finish a warm, organic appearance rather than a flat solid colour.

Designed to fit standard E27/ES pendant holders and table lamp bases, the Aethera works as a replacement shade for ceiling pendants, table lamps and floor lamps where the existing shade has worn or no longer suits the room. The 16cm diameter makes it suitable for bedside tables, small side tables, narrow console lamps, and single-bulb pendants over kitchen counters or in hallways where a larger shade would overwhelm the space.

The cone shape directs light downwards onto the surface below while the fabric diffuses the edges of the beam, preventing harsh shadows. The beige tone sits between cream and sand, pairing comfortably with both warm woods and cooler greys, and works across traditional, mid-century and contemporary interiors without imposing a specific style. The fabric is securely stitched to the wire frame at both the top and bottom rims, which prevents sagging over time.

What wattage bulb can I use with this shade?

Fabric shades generally suit LED bulbs up to 10-15W or halogen bulbs up to 40-60W, depending on the lamp base specification. Avoid high-wattage incandescent bulbs that generate excessive heat near fabric materials.

How is the fabric cleaned?

Dust the shade regularly with a soft brush or microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth can be used sparingly, but avoid soaking the fabric or using chemical cleaners which may discolour the material or weaken the stitching.

Does the beige colour vary between production batches?

Minor tonal variation can occur between batches due to fabric dye lot differences. If ordering multiple shades for the same room, ordering from the same batch (where possible) ensures the closest colour match.
