A quiet reading corner or a snug living room is exactly where our A Conversation Piece Tall Black Oak Lounge Chair comes into its own. This high-backed chair gives you somewhere to settle in properly, with a tall upholstered shell that curves inward at the top like a pair of wings to cradle your head and shoulders. It sits on an open solid oak frame with cross-rails, so the seat feels supported and grounded while keeping a light, airy footprint. At 106cm tall, 73cm wide and 93cm deep, it holds a generous presence without crowding the space around it.

The upholstery here is a warm Cognac, a soft tan that brings depth to a room and works happily alongside both pale walls and darker, cosier schemes. We paired it with our Black Oak frame, giving the timber a deep, moody finish that draws a clear line against the lighter seat. The chair is made from solid oak, plywood, polyester, MDF and PUR, and weighs 19.5kg, so it stays put once you have found the right spot yet is easy enough for two people to shift when you fancy a rearrange. Assembly takes around 20 minutes, and we include an assembly video to walk you through it.

Built to recognised standards, this chair carries EN 16139 (L1) Furniture Standard, the Global Recycled Standard, ANSI/BIFMA X5.4 for Public and Lounge Seating and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. To keep the Cognac upholstery looking its best, give it a regular light brush or vacuum and wipe away any spills promptly with a clean, slightly damp cloth. The oak frame simply needs an occasional dust. For styling, we like it angled towards a window with a floor lamp and a small side table, ready for a long afternoon with a book.
