Description

The Knightsbridge BT9ACTB is a 9W outdoor LED bulkhead with switchable colour temperature control, allowing selection between 3000K warm white (730lm), 4000K neutral white (810lm), or 5700K daylight (780lm) via a CCT switch on the rear of the fitting. The 256mm diameter black polycarbonate body carries an IP65 rating for full outdoor weather protection and Class II double-insulated construction that does not require an earth connection.

Designed for wall and ceiling mounting on building exteriors, covered walkways, porches, garages and commercial outdoor areas, the bulkhead delivers wide 115-degree beam angle coverage from an integrated SMD LED array behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The hinged LED gear tray opens for wiring access via a push-fit fast-fix terminal block, removing the need for screwdrivers during installation. The 74mm projection from the wall or ceiling keeps the fitting low-profile while housing the constant-current LED driver inside the sealed body.

The black finish pairs with commercial, industrial and modern residential building exteriors without standing out visually. The polycarbonate construction resists impact better than glass or acrylic equivalents, making it suitable for high-traffic areas or positions vulnerable to accidental contact. The LED is rated to 50,000 hours L70B50 life expectancy (the point at which 50% of a batch would have degraded to 70% of original brightness), equivalent to approximately 17 years of continuous operation or significantly longer under typical daily use patterns.

How do I change the colour temperature?

The CCT switch is located on the rear of the fitting inside the sealed body. You select 3000K, 4000K or 5700K before final installation and wiring. Once the bulkhead is mounted and wired, changing CCT requires removing the fitting from the wall or ceiling.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

Yes. The IP65 rating provides full protection against water jets from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor zones and indoor wet areas including bathrooms, provided it is not submerged.

Is it dimmable?

No. The constant-current LED driver does not support dimming. The bulkhead operates at full output when powered.

What wiring is required?

The fitting is Class II double-insulated, requiring only live and neutral connections via the push-fit terminal block inside. No earth connection is needed. It operates on standard 230V 50Hz UK mains.
