Description
The Knightsbridge BT20CTS is a 20W LED bulkhead fitting with an integrated microwave sensor and CCT adjustment, allowing the light colour to be switched between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 5700K cool daylight. The sensor detects movement within its adjustable detection zone and can be configured to set lux threshold and hold time, making the fitting suitable for automatic lighting in corridors, car parks, storage areas and external wall-mounted positions.
Designed for both wall and ceiling mounting, the bulkhead carries an IP65 rating against dust and water ingress, allowing it to be installed in exposed outdoor positions, parking areas, industrial loading bays and washroom facilities. The polycarbonate body and opal diffuser give impact resistance and UV stability in outdoor use. The hinged LED gear tray opens for quick access to the push-fit terminal block during installation, and the low 81mm projection keeps the fitting close to the wall or ceiling surface.
The CCT adjustment is set via a switch on the rear of the fitting before installation, with lumen output varying by colour temperature: 1530lm at 3000K, 1760lm at 4000K, and 1640lm at 5700K. The sensor's detection range, lux level and hold time are adjustable via controls behind the diffuser, allowing the fitting to be tuned to different environments without rewiring. The LED module is rated for 60,000 hours at L70B50, giving approximately 15-20 years of typical use in sensor-controlled applications.

Frequently Asked
How is the CCT colour temperature changed?
The CCT is set using a switch on the rear of the fitting before installation. The options are 3000K warm white (1530lm), 4000K neutral white (1760lm) and 5700K cool daylight (1640lm). The setting cannot be changed once the fitting is mounted without removing it from the wall or ceiling.
How is the sensor adjusted?
The microwave sensor has three adjustable controls behind the diffuser: detection range, lux threshold (the ambient light level below which the sensor will activate) and hold time (how long the light stays on after movement stops). These are adjusted using small dials or switches accessible when the diffuser is opened.
Can it be used in a bathroom or shower area?
The IP65 rating protects against water jets from any direction, making the bulkhead suitable for bathroom zone 1 and zone 2 positions (outside the shower enclosure). It should not be installed directly inside a shower cubicle (zone 0) as that requires IP67 or higher.
What fixing method does it use?
The bulkhead mounts to a standard wall or ceiling surface using fixing screws through the rear baseplate (screws not supplied). The hinged gear tray opens to reveal the push-fit terminal block for mains connection. A knock-out entry point on the rear accepts 20mm conduit for concealed cable runs.
