Description

The Knightsbridge BT20ACTS is a 20W LED bulkhead with an integrated microwave sensor, a 380mm diameter white polycarbonate body, and IP65 weatherproofing for both indoor and outdoor installation. The luminaire delivers between 1730lm and 1930lm depending on the selected colour temperature, with CCT switching between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, and 5700K cool white set via a switch on the driver.

Designed for ceiling and wall mounting in commercial, residential and industrial settings, the bulkhead suits external entrances, covered walkways, storage areas, loading bays, corridors, stairwells and car parks where automated motion-activated lighting reduces energy waste. The microwave sensor detects movement through the polycarbonate diffuser and activates the LED, with adjustable detection range, lux threshold, and hold time set via three control dials inside the luminaire. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction.

The polycarbonate body and opal diffuser combine impact resistance with wide 115° beam distribution, giving even coverage across large wall and floor areas without harsh shadows. The hinged LED gear tray opens for maintenance access without removing the luminaire from the wall or ceiling, and the push-fit terminal block accepts standard twin-and-earth mains cable without screw terminals. At 81mm projection, the low-profile design sits close to the mounting surface. The 50,000-hour L70B50 rating and 5-year warranty reflect commercial-grade construction.

How is the colour temperature changed?

The CCT is adjusted via a switch on the LED driver inside the luminaire. Remove the diffuser to access the driver, set the switch to 3000K, 4000K, or 5700K as required, then refit the diffuser. The setting is retained until manually changed.

How do you adjust the sensor settings?

Three control dials inside the luminaire adjust detection range, lux threshold (ambient light level at which the sensor activates), and hold time (how long the light stays on after detecting movement). Access these by opening the hinged gear tray.

Can it be installed outdoors?

Yes. The IP65 rating protects against dust and water jets, making it suitable for external walls, soffits, covered porches, and sheltered outdoor areas. It should not be installed fully exposed to driving rain without overhead protection.

Is it suitable for emergency lighting circuits?

This model (BT20ACTS) is a standard sensor version without emergency battery backup. Knightsbridge produces separate emergency versions in the same bulkhead range — contact us if emergency compliance is required for your installation.
