Description
The Knightsbridge 14W CCT LED bulkhead combines an adjustable colour temperature LED with a 3-hour maintained emergency function behind a white polycarbonate housing rated IP65 for outdoor use. The CCT switch allows selection between 3000K warm white (1130lm), 4000K neutral white (1260lm), or 5700K daylight (1210lm) to suit the installation environment.
Designed for external wall and ceiling mounting on commercial, industrial and residential buildings, the bulkhead provides reliable lighting in corridors, stairwells, car parks, storage areas and building perimeters where both mains and emergency lighting are required. The integrated emergency battery delivers 180lm output for three hours during a mains power failure, with selectable maintained, non-maintained or switched emergency modes. The 315mm diameter and 74mm projection suit low-headroom locations where a slimline profile is needed.
The polycarbonate construction and IP65 rating protect the internal LED gear tray and battery from dust ingress and water jets, making the fitting suitable for installation in exposed positions subject to rain and condensation. The opal diffuser spreads light across a 115° beam angle, reducing glare and hot spots on walls and pathways. Installation is via a hinged gear tray and push-fit fast-fix terminal block that accepts standard mains cable without requiring screwdrivers or separate connectors. The fitting is Class II double-insulated, so no earth connection is required.
The SMD LED array carries a 50,000-hour L70B50 rating and a constant-current driver that runs on 230V 50Hz mains. The fitting is non-dimmable. A 5-year warranty covers the LED module and housing, excluding the emergency battery which has a separate serviceable lifespan.

Frequently Asked
How does the CCT selection work?
A switch on the LED gear tray allows selection between three colour temperatures: 3000K warm white (1130lm), 4000K neutral white (1260lm), or 5700K daylight (1210lm). The setting is chosen during installation and remains fixed once the cover is closed.
What is the difference between maintained and non-maintained emergency modes?
In maintained mode, the emergency LED stays lit whenever mains power is on, then continues running on battery during a power cut. In non-maintained mode, the emergency LED only activates when mains power fails. Switched mode allows the main LED to be controlled by a wall switch while keeping the emergency function independent.
Can this bulkhead be used in bathrooms?
The IP65 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2 (outside the shower enclosure but within the bath/shower area) and for outdoor installation. It is not rated for submersion or direct shower spray (which would require IP67 or higher).
How long does the emergency battery last?
The integrated battery provides 3 hours of emergency illumination at 180lm when mains power fails. Battery lifespan depends on usage cycles and temperature, typically requiring replacement every 3-4 years. The 5-year warranty on the fitting excludes the battery.
