Description

The Knightsbridge BT14ACTB is a 14W LED bulkhead with adjustable colour temperature, allowing you to switch between 3000K warm white (1130lm), 4000K neutral white (1260lm), and 5700K daylight (1210lm) via an onboard switch. The 315mm diameter housing is constructed from black polycarbonate with an opal diffuser and carries an IP65 rating, making it suitable for both internal and external wall or ceiling mounting in areas exposed to rain, dust and low temperatures.

Designed for corridor lighting, building perimeters, car parks, storage areas, stairwells and service yards, the bulkhead fits standard UK wiring via a push-fit terminal block inside the hinged gear tray. The 115° beam angle provides wide coverage without multiple fittings, while the Class II construction means no earth connection is required during installation. Optional accessories include microwave sensors, corridor dimming functions, and emergency backup modules (available separately) to adapt the fitting for commercial and multi-occupancy building requirements.

The polycarbonate construction and opal diffuser are impact-resistant and UV-stable, designed to withstand outdoor weathering without yellowing or cracking over the 50,000-hour L70B50 lifespan. The hinged LED gear tray allows access to the driver and terminal block for maintenance without removing the entire fitting from the wall. The black finish pairs with industrial, commercial and modern residential exteriors where a neutral or low-visibility fitting is preferred over white.

How do I change the colour temperature?

There is a selector switch inside the hinged gear tray. Open the tray, locate the CCT switch, and set it to 3000K (warm white), 4000K (neutral white), or 5700K (daylight) before closing the tray and restoring power. The change takes effect when the fitting is powered back on.

Is the bulkhead suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The IP65 rating means the fitting is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making it suitable for external walls, soffits, covered car parks, and exposed building perimeters in UK weather conditions.

Can the bulkhead be used on a ceiling?

Yes. The fitting can be mounted on walls or ceilings. The opal diffuser provides a 115° beam angle that works in both orientations. Ceiling mounting is common in corridors, stairwells, and storage areas where wall mounting is impractical.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The SMD LED array is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours indicates the LED will maintain at least 70% of its initial output for approximately 11 years of continuous use before degradation becomes noticeable.
