Description

The Knightsbridge 14W LED bulkhead is a 315mm wall and ceiling-mounted luminaire with adjustable colour temperature settings at 3000K, 4000K and 5700K. The IP65 rating seals the polycarbonate housing against dust and water jets, allowing the fitting to be installed indoors or outdoors in exposed positions. The integrated SMD LED array produces 1130-1260lm depending on which colour temperature is selected, and the opal diffuser spreads light across a 115° beam angle.

Designed for utility spaces, commercial corridors, external doorways and covered outdoor areas, the bulkhead mounts to standard wall or ceiling back boxes using the hinged LED gear tray that lifts open for wiring access. The push-fit terminal block accepts mains cable without requiring terminal screws, and the gear tray clips back down over the diffuser once wired. The 74mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting low-profile on both horizontal and vertical surfaces.

The polycarbonate construction is impact-resistant and UV-stable, so the white finish does not yellow under sunlight over the fitting's rated 50,000-hour lifespan (approximately 11 years at 12 hours per day). The Class II double-insulated design means no earth connection is required during installation. The CCT switch on the rear allows the colour temperature to be changed after installation without rewiring, providing warm white (3000K) for residential entrance halls, neutral white (4000K) for kitchens and offices, or cool daylight (5700K) for workshops and external security lighting.

This model carries a 5-year warranty. Knightsbridge also produces variants of this bulkhead with microwave sensors, corridor dimming functions and emergency backup options for more specialised applications.

How do I change the colour temperature?

The CCT switch is located on the rear of the gear tray. Switch between 3000K (warm white), 4000K (neutral white) and 5700K (cool daylight) before final installation. The setting cannot be changed once the bulkhead is mounted without removing the fitting from the wall or ceiling.

Can this be used outdoors?

Yes. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, so the bulkhead can be installed in exposed outdoor positions including doorways, covered entrances and external corridors. It is not submersible.

Is it dimmable?

No. The constant current driver does not support dimming. If dimming is required, consider the Knightsbridge bulkhead variants with microwave sensor and corridor dimming functions.

What is the expected lifespan?

The rated L70B50 lifespan is 50,000 hours, meaning 50% of the LEDs will still produce at least 70% of their initial light output at that point. At 12 hours per day this equates to approximately 11 years of use.
