Description

The Knightsbridge E27PC is a 100W outdoor bulkhead light with a grey aluminium base and a clear prismatic polycarbonate diffuser. The IP65 rating provides full dust protection and resistance to water jets from any direction, making the fitting suitable for external walls, covered patios, garage entrances and open walkways exposed to rain.

The E27 lampholder accepts standard Edison screw bulbs up to 100W (bulb not included), giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or traditional filament bulbs depending on the required brightness and colour temperature. Dimming capability depends on the bulb fitted — a dimmable LED or halogen bulb paired with a compatible dimmer will allow brightness adjustment, while non-dimmable bulbs operate at full output only.

The prismatic polycarbonate diffuser spreads light evenly across the illuminated area rather than creating a tight beam, reducing harsh shadows on pathways and reducing glare when the fitting is mounted at eye level on a wall. The 240mm x 105mm footprint and 110mm projection from the wall suit standard UK exterior wall mounting, and the aluminium construction resists corrosion in coastal and high-moisture environments better than steel or painted finishes.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The bulkhead takes a standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to 100W. No bulb is included — you will need to purchase an E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb separately depending on your brightness and colour temperature requirements.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming capability depends on the bulb you fit. If you use a dimmable LED or halogen bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch, the light output can be adjusted. Non-dimmable bulbs will operate at full output only.

What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?

IP65 provides full protection against dust ingress and protection against water jets from any direction. This means the bulkhead can be mounted on exterior walls exposed to rain, but should not be submerged or mounted where it will be subjected to high-pressure washing.

How is the prismatic diffuser different from clear glass?

The prismatic polycarbonate diffuser has a ridged surface that refracts light in multiple directions, spreading illumination more evenly across the area and reducing glare compared to a smooth clear cover. This makes the fitting more comfortable to view directly when mounted at or near eye level on a wall.
