Description

The Toffee is a small, free-standing outdoor lamp that runs on a rechargeable battery rather than a mains cable, so it can be set down and moved wherever the light is wanted. A slim powder-coated aluminium column carries an acrylic diffuser that softens the integrated LED into a warm, even glow. Lit, it reads as a quiet upright point of warm light on a table or ledge; unlit, it sits as a plain coffee-brown post.

This is the shorter of the two 80mm-wide sizes at 250mm tall, so it suits a dining table, a bar top, a windowsill or a run of steps where a low, portable light is useful for the evening. Because it is cordless it also works away from any socket, brought out onto a balcony or a lawn and taken back in to charge. Rated IP65, it is sealed against dust and low-pressure water jets, so it copes with rain and being left out.

The body is powder-coated aluminium in a warm coffee-brown finish with an acrylic diffuser, and the light source is an integrated LED giving 8W and 900 lumens at 3000K warm white, rated to around 50,000 hours. It arrives ready to charge and use straight from the box, with no wiring needed.

A warm, even glow. The integrated LED sits behind an acrylic diffuser, so the light reads as a soft upright point rather than a bright bulb. It gives 900 lumens at 3000K warm white, enough to light a table or mark a step through the evening.

Is it really cordless, and how is it powered?

Yes. The Toffee runs on a built-in rechargeable battery, so there is no mains cable and no wiring. You charge it indoors, then set it down or carry it wherever you like, and bring it back in to recharge.

Can it be used outdoors in the rain?

Yes. It is rated IP65, which means it is sealed against dust and protected against low-pressure water jets, so it stands up to rain and can be left out on a table, a step or a balcony.

How big is it and where does it suit?

It is 80mm across and 250mm tall, the shorter of the two slim sizes. At this height it works on a dining table, a bar top, a windowsill or along steps. A 500mm-tall version and a wider 160mm version are also available.
