Description

The Steel is a slim linear bar for the wall, a length of extruded aluminium just over 1200mm long that throws one wide sheet of light across the surface it is fixed to. It runs a single continuous LED behind a 104 degree lens, so the output spreads as an even wash rather than breaking into separate spots, grazing the wall above and below the bar. Lit, it draws a clean band of brightness up the surface; unlit, it sits back as a plain narrow profile only 40mm deep.

This is the black version at 4000K natural white, a 1203mm bar standing 94mm tall and projecting 40mm from the wall. The wide throw suits a hallway, a stairwell, a living room chimney breast or an office wall, run singly as a band of accent or stacked in a rig where a longer reach is wanted. Its black finish keeps the profile quiet by day and lets the lit band read against the surface behind it.

The body is extruded aluminium and the source is a built-in LED module drawing 29W for 3800 lumens at 4000K, with a colour rendering index above 90 so tones stay true, and a 50,000 hour life, so no bulb is fitted or replaced. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms and dims on a 1-10V control. We supply it ready to wire in.

What kind of light does the Steel give?

One wide sheet of light. A single continuous LED behind a 104 degree lens spreads the output as an even 4000K wash up and down the wall rather than as separate spots, so it grazes the surface it is fixed to. A colour rendering index above 90 keeps tones looking natural.

Does it need bulbs?

No. A built-in LED module giving 3800 lumens is fitted and included, so there is nothing separate to buy or replace. The module is rated for around 50,000 hours of normal use.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes. It dims on a 1-10V control, so the wall wash can be taken from full down to a low level. We are happy to advise on the driver and switching before you order.

How big is it and where does it suit?
