Description
The Quark is a small recessed downlight that sets almost flush into a plasterboard ceiling and sends a single beam straight down. It is built around an integrated LED behind an aluminium body finished in white, so the aperture settles quietly against a pale plaster ceiling rather than drawing the eye. At 49mm across and 110mm deep, this fixed 12W head is the brighter of the fixed pair.
This is the fixed version, so the head points straight down for a steady, repeatable pool of light rather than an aimed accent. The LED is set at a warm 3000K and gives 1200 lumens over a 25 degree beam, with a colour rendering above 90, so paint, art and skin hold their tone closely under it. A grid of them gives bright, even ceiling light for a kitchen or a living room with a higher ceiling, while the white body keeps the ceiling uncluttered.
The LED is built in and rated for around 50,000 hours, so there is no bulb to fit or replace. The head recesses into the ceiling and runs from a driver, which we can supply alongside so the fitting arrives ready to wire in. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

Frequently Asked
What kind of light does the Quark give?
A warm, even downward pool. The integrated LED runs at 3000K over a 25 degree beam, 1200 lumens, with a colour rendering above 90, so colours and skin tones read true. It points straight down for steady general light.
Does the head tilt?
No. This is the fixed version, so the beam points straight down. If you want an aimable head to angle light at a wall or a picture, the adjustable 12W Quark tilts within its ring.
How does it compare to the 9W Quark?
This 12W head gives 1200 lumens against the 9W head's 900, and is deeper at 110mm. The extra output suits a higher ceiling or a brighter room; both share the same 25 degree beam and 3000K tone.
How big is it and where does it suit?
The body is 49mm across and 110mm deep. Rated IP20 for dry rooms, the fixed brighter beam suits general ceiling light in a kitchen or living room, run singly or in a grid, in the white finish.
