Description

The Play is a recessed downlight whose head sits proud of the ceiling and tilts to aim a focused circle of light exactly where you want it. The barrel swivels on its base so the beam can follow a picture, a shelf or a run of artwork, while the trim itself stays flush in the plaster. Lit, it reads as a clean pool of cool white 4000K light; unlit, the compact black head sits neatly in the ceiling.

This is the 7W head in black, drawing 560 lumens through a 16 degree beam, with a colour rendering index above 90 so tone stays true on whatever it lights. The body, base and swivel joint are die-cast aluminium finished in black, and the orientable barrel points the beam without moving the recessed frame. The head measures 60mm across and the fitting stands 125mm deep behind the ceiling, so it needs a void to sit in; the useful output on the working plane is 460 lumens.

The source is a built-in LED COB module rated to 50,000 hours, so there is no bulb to fit or replace, and the driver comes supplied with the fitting. The head runs at a fixed 4000K output and is not dimmable, carrying an IP20 rating for dry indoor rooms. We would set it into a ceiling with clearance above, aimed at the wall or shelf you want to pick out.
