Description
The Oblyra is a 120mm wall light built around a sphere of natural Spanish alabaster mounted against a sharply angled square backplate in matt black. A single G9 lamp socket sits behind the alabaster, lighting the stone from within so the sphere itself becomes the diffuser. The compact 120mm diameter and angled plate make this the smaller sibling in the Oblyra range, suited to tighter wall positions where a larger globe would dominate.
Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedside walls and either side of a bathroom mirror (subject to local zoning rules and a qualified electrician's assessment), the Oblyra works well in pairs flanking a doorway or in runs along a corridor. The square backplate mounts flat to the wall and the alabaster globe projects forward, throwing light across the wall surface as well as outwards into the room. The G9 socket accepts a standard capsule bulb, sold separately.
Each alabaster sphere is cut from natural stone, so veining patterns and tonal layers vary between individual fittings. When lit, the mineral layers become visible through the surface and the warm light takes on the cream and caramel tones of the stone itself. The black backplate, finished in a low-sheen matt, provides a deliberate visual contrast against the pale stone and grounds the fitting against lighter wall colours. The angled mounting plate adds a sculptural quality that distinguishes the Oblyra from a flush-mounted disc.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Oblyra take?
The Oblyra uses a single G9 capsule bulb (sold separately). Most users pair it with a warm-white LED G9 between 2700K and 3000K to complement the natural cream tones of the alabaster.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
The product specification does not list an IP rating, so the Oblyra should be treated as an indoor, dry-location wall light. Installation in any bathroom zone should only be considered after a qualified electrician has confirmed suitability against the relevant zoning rules.
Does each alabaster sphere look the same?
No. The alabaster is cut from natural Spanish stone, so the veining, tonal layers and translucency vary between individual pieces. This natural variation is part of the material and not a defect.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Wipe the sphere with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone, as alabaster is porous and softer than marble.
