Description

The Nemo is a single hand-blown glass globe suspended from a slim chrome ceiling cap. It is built around one E27 lamp held inside a rounded amber glass sphere, so the light is carried and warmed by the tinted glass and spread evenly in all directions rather than thrown as a beam. Lit, it reads as a soft amber orb; unlit, it holds its shape as a clear amber glass ball on a fine cable.

At 400mm across, this is the largest of the amber Nemo sizes. The drop adjusts from 620mm down to 2370mm, so a single globe can hang low over a bedside or console, or several can be set at staggered heights over a kitchen island, a dining table or a stairwell.

The ceiling cap and metalwork are finished in chrome, and the diffuser is amber-tinted blown glass. It takes one E27 bulb and is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms. Bulbs are not included, so we would fit a suitable E27 lamp to set the warmth and brightness you are after.

What kind of light does the Nemo give?

A warm, amber-toned glow. Light passes through the hand-blown amber glass globe and spreads out softly in every direction rather than as a direct beam, so lit it reads as a warm sphere of colour and unlit it sits as a clear amber glass ball on a slim chrome cap.

Does it come with a bulb?

No, a bulb is not included. It takes one E27 lamp of up to 42W, so you can pick the brightness and warmth to suit the room. A warm-white lamp works best with the amber glass. We can advise on a suitable bulb.

Can it be dimmed?

There is no dimmer built into the fitting, but because it uses a standard E27 lamp you can dim it by fitting a dimmable E27 bulb with a compatible wall dimmer.

How big is it and where does it suit?

The glass globe is 400mm across, with a drop adjustable from 620mm to 2370mm. It suits a dining room, a kitchen island, a hallway or a bedroom, on its own or grouped at different heights.
