Description
The ESP Aperta is an IP PoE multi-way outdoor door station combining an HD camera, proximity card reader and numeric keypad in a single surface-mount unit measuring 365mm x 139mm x 70mm. The station connects to a network via a single Power over Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for separate power and data runs to the door position.
Designed for multi-occupancy residential buildings, gated developments, commercial offices and industrial sites, the Aperta allows visitors to call individual apartments or offices via the numeric keypad or gain authorised entry by presenting a proximity card to the integrated reader. The HD camera captures visitor images for monitoring and recording, while the IP65 rating protects internal components against rain, dust and impact in exposed outdoor locations.
The surface-mount enclosure is constructed from brushed stainless steel with a charcoal grey powder-coated back plate. The front faceplate houses a 12-button numeric keypad, a card reader aperture positioned above the keypad, and an HD camera lens at the top of the unit. The station weighs 1.96kg net and projects 70mm from the mounting surface once installed, making it suitable for wall positions next to entrance doors, gate pillars and lobby access points.
Installation requires a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable run from the door position to a PoE-capable network switch or injector. The Aperta supports standard IP intercom protocols and integrates with compatible indoor monitor units, access control systems and network video recorders. Configuration is handled via a web interface accessible from any browser on the same network.

Frequently Asked
What network equipment is needed for installation?
The Aperta requires a PoE-capable network switch or a PoE injector to supply power and data over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable. The station draws power according to the 802.3af PoE standard. A compatible IP intercom system or monitoring software is also needed to receive calls and view camera feeds.
Can the proximity reader work with existing access control cards?
The integrated proximity reader accepts standard 125kHz proximity cards. Compatibility with an existing card system depends on whether the cards use the same frequency and protocol. Contact ESP or your access control provider to verify compatibility before ordering.
Is the unit suitable for coastal or extreme weather locations?
The IP65 rating protects against rain, dust and impact, making the Aperta suitable for most UK outdoor installations including exposed coastal areas. For locations with extreme salt spray or where the unit is directly facing prevailing weather, consider mounting under a small canopy or porch overhang to extend service life.
How many apartments or offices can the station support?
The numeric keypad allows visitors to dial individual apartment or office codes. The maximum number of addressable units depends on the IP intercom system the Aperta is connected to, not the door station itself. Consult the system documentation or contact ESP for capacity guidance on specific configurations.
