Description
The Catenis is a 1m tall alabaster wall light built around a cylindrical shade of natural Spanish alabaster, held within a matt black iron frame formed from three stacked elongated loops. Two G9 lamps sit inside the alabaster cylinder, casting light through the stone so the shade itself becomes the diffuser. The fitting projects 80mm from the wall on a 150mm-wide footprint.
Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedside walls and feature wall positions where vertical proportion suits the architecture, the Catenis works best at eye level or above. The 1000mm height gives it enough scale to anchor a tall wall section without crowding it, and the 80mm projection keeps it clear of standard circulation routes. The loop frame extends above and below the alabaster shade, lending the fitting a graphic presence even when unlit.
Each alabaster cylinder is cut from natural stone, so mineral veining, clouding and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. The matt black finish on the iron frame is low-sheen, reducing reflections and providing a clean contrast against the warm-toned alabaster when the lamps are switched on. The combination of brass internal fittings, alabaster shade and matt black frame gives a layered material palette without visual clutter on the wall plate.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Catenis take?
The fitting takes two G9 capsule lamps. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm white G9 LED between 2700K and 3000K typically pairs best with the natural alabaster, keeping the warm tones of the stone visible when lit.
Is the Catenis dimmable?
Dimmability depends on the G9 lamps fitted. The wall light itself does not include a driver, so pairing dimmable G9 LED bulbs with a compatible dimmer switch is the route to dimming. Contact us before purchasing a dimmer to confirm compatibility.
Does the alabaster vary between pieces?
Yes. Each cylinder is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, clouding and tonal variation differ between individual fittings. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect, and is most visible once the lamps are switched on.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, but avoid soaking the stone and never use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners on the surface.
