Description

The Aurelian is a vertical column wall light built around a slim cylinder of natural Spanish alabaster, mounted to a matte black metal stem and oval backplate. An integrated 3W LED at 3000K runs the length of the alabaster, lighting the stone from within so the column itself becomes the source rather than a visible bulb. Total height is 360mm, width 75mm, with a 90mm projection from the wall.

Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedside positions and bathroom flanks (subject to suitable IP rating for the location), the Aurelian works as both task-adjacent and ambient lighting. The narrow 75mm width keeps the fitting close to the wall, and the 90mm projection clears most door architraves and picture rails. Pairs of Aurelians flanking a mirror, headboard or doorway create symmetrical vertical accents, and a run of three or more along a corridor produces an even rhythm of warm light at head height.

The alabaster is cut from natural Spanish stone, so each column shows different mineral veining and tonal variation when lit. The matte black finish on the stem and oval backplate is low-sheen, minimising reflections and sharpening the contrast between the dark metalwork and the warm glow of the stone. The oval backplate hides the wiring point and gives a defined termination where the fitting meets the wall.

Does the Aurelian come with a bulb?

Yes. The light source is an integrated 3W LED running on 230V mains at 3000K warm white. There is no separate bulb to fit or replace, and no E14 or G9 lamp is required.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The specification sheet does not list an IP rating for this fitting, so we cannot confirm bathroom-zone suitability. For bathroom installation please contact us before ordering, or choose a fitting with a confirmed IP44 or IP65 rating.

Can it be installed in pairs or runs?

Yes. The slim 75mm width and oval backplate make the Aurelian well suited to symmetrical pairs flanking a mirror, headboard or doorway, or to evenly spaced runs along a corridor. Each unit is wired independently to a standard wall outlet point.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each column is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, translucency and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and is most visible when the LED is lit.
