Description
This Knightsbridge 5W GU10 LED bulb delivers 570 lumens of 4000K cool white light through a 40° beam angle, providing direct replacement for traditional 50W halogen GU10 spotlights. The SMD LED chip sits behind a clear glass lens with a polycarbonate body, giving the bulb a similar visual appearance to halogen when installed in downlights or track fittings.
Designed for recessed downlights, track lighting, and directional spotlights in kitchens, bathrooms (IP20 rated for zones outside shower enclosures), offices and retail spaces, the 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light that sits between warm white (2700K-3000K) and daylight white (5000K-6500K). The 40° beam provides focused illumination without the hard shadows of narrower 25° beams, making it suitable for general room lighting as well as accent lighting.
The bulb is dimmable when paired with compatible trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmers — dimmer compatibility varies by manufacturer, so testing before full installation across multiple fittings is recommended. At 5W draw versus 50W for equivalent halogen output, the LED reduces energy consumption by 90% and the L70B50 rating of 54,000 hours translates to approximately 25 years of use at 6 hours per day before the bulb drops to 70% of its original lumen output.

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb compatible with all dimmers?
The bulb works with most trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers, but compatibility varies by dimmer manufacturer and model. Test one bulb with your existing dimmer before installing across multiple fittings. Some older rotary dimmers designed for halogen loads may cause flickering or limited dimming range with LED bulbs.
What's the difference between 4000K and 3000K?
4000K produces a cool white light with a neutral tone that appears slightly blue-white compared to the warmer, more yellow-toned 3000K. 4000K is commonly used in kitchens, bathrooms and task lighting where clarity is prioritised over warmth. 3000K is preferred in living rooms and bedrooms for a softer, more relaxed atmosphere.
Can this be used in bathroom downlights?
The IP20 rating means the bulb is suitable for bathroom zones outside shower enclosures and bath surrounds (typically zone 3). For downlights directly above a bath or inside a shower enclosure, an IP65-rated bulb and fitting are required.
How does the 570 lumens compare to halogen?
570 lumens is approximately equivalent to a 50W halogen GU10 spotlight. The 5W LED draw reduces energy consumption by 90% while producing similar light output and beam spread.
